Chief Executive Officer

In 1988 Mr Litjens joined DSM as Business Controller for Engineering Plastics, after which he held several managing positions in general management, control, finance and strategic planning. From 1992 until 1995 Mr Litjens was Managing Director of DSM Resins France, after which he joined the petrochemicals business.

In 1999 he became Director of the Moulding and Extrusion Polypropylenes business unit. After SABIC acquired DSM's petrochemical activities in 2002, Mr Litjens joined the board of directors of SABIC Europe as Chief Operating Officer.

Mr Litjens studied economics at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.
