Vice-President, Fertilizers

Mr Al-Sheaibi is the newly appointed Vice-President of Fertilizers. Having held the post of Vice-President of PVC and Polyester since 2002, he is now responsible for SABIC's ammonia, phosphate and urea businesses.

Mr Al-Sheaibi joined SABIC in 1979 as a petrochemicals researcher. From 1980 to 1982 he trained in the United States with business school consultants and petrochemical companies. In this period he also trained with Dewitt to develop a marketing plan for SABIC, and in 1984 he became our Regional Sales Manager for Europe, with responsibility for logistics, marketing research and plastics marketing. In 1987 he became General Manager of SABIC Europe Ltd and was responsible for creating SABIC's European network.

In 1991 Mr Al-Sheaibi returned to Riyadh as Business Manager of Plastics at SABIC Marketing Ltd, with responsibilities for global plastics sales and marketing. In 1994, he became Vice-President of Sales, and in 1998 he was briefly Senior Vice-President of Polyolefins, before being appointed Group President of Intermediates and Acting President of Polymers. From 1999 to 2002 he was the Group President of SABIC's Polymers strategic business unit.

Mr Al-Sheaibi graduated from King Saud University in 1978 with a degree in business administration.
