Vice-President, Corporate HR

Mr Al-Bat’hi is Vice-President of SABIC’s Corporate Human Resources and Corporate Communications teams. He assumed these roles in September 2002. He is also chairman of SABIC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.

Mr Al-Bat’hi joined SABIC in 1981. Since then he has fulfilled a number of roles across the business, most recently General Manager of SABIC Americas in Houston. He was also Vice-President of Industrial Services in SABIC Services Ltd from 1994 to 1999.

He started his career in the Al-Jubail Petrochemical Company (KEMYA), an affiliate of SABIC, working first in its materials management department and then in its HR division.

He has held various titles at the company, including Director of Marketing Research. He worked on the creation of SABIC’s Shared Services Organization in 2003, and took up the challenging responsibility of implementing the Consolidated Procurement Organization, now known as the Supply Management Organization.

Mr Al-Bat’hi also played an influential role in SABIC Japan Ltd, chairing its board from 1992 to 1996.

He graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1981.
