2-EH (2-Ethyl Hexanol)
Description
2-Ethyl Hexanol (2-EH) is a clear, uniform, non-toxic liquid with a characteristic odor, insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvent. It is obtained indirectly in OXO synthesis from propylene and synthesis gas.

Applications
2-EH is most commonly used in the production of Phthalates for rubber and plastic (PVC) fabrication. It is a good paint solvent and an active component of textile finishing formulation, acrylate and additives for diesel fuel and lube oil.
Storage and handling
2-EH is usually stored in steel, closed storage tanks protected against excess sunrays and heat and provided with a sprinkling device. 2-EH is transported in tankers.
Packaging
Steel tankers.
