REACH is the new EU legislation for the chemicals industry. REACH is the acronym for Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals. REACH took effect on 1 June 2007 and is applicable across the whole industry chain. This new legislation replaces all EU legislation relating to chemical substances, existing until June 2007. REACH will be completely operational for SABIC in 2010.

 

As a responsible manufacturer and importer of chemicals, SABIC cares for the safety and health of people and the environment, and compliance with REACH is merely a logical step. SABIC fully supports the REACH objectives, which entirely correspond to our QESH policy. It is our policy to minimize the risks associated with our production activities and products, and to continuously improve their safety, health, and environmental performance.
