Applications
Butene-1 can be produced directly from ethylene as CP 99% and also by extraction from C4's mixtures out of ethylene crackers. It is used as a copolymer in polyethylene alkylate gasoline, polybutenes, butadiene; as intermediates for C4 and C5 aldehydes, alcohols and other derivatives; and in the production of maleic unhydride by catalytic oxidation.
Storage and handling
Butene-1 is usually stored as liquid at 5-35°C under pressure 0.5-3.5 Bar. A sphere tanks are commonly employed. Pipelines are frequently used to transfer butene-1. Butene-1 is also transferred by truck.
Packaging
Asphere tankers.
