Training and development

We like to spot talent early. SABIC maintains close links with universities and vocational schools and makes sure that their curricula are in touch with our needs. Saudi employees are encouraged to pursue higher education and to specialize through scholarship schemes, and Saudi universities and colleges assist us by arranging work-related training. SABIC Learning was established in April 2006 to nurture a group-wide culture of continual education, learning and training. This will build company’s skills in supply chain management, leadership, marketing and finance.

Saudi Arabians at SABIC

While the company takes pride in its multinational workforce, we are a Saudi Arabian company, and we are keenly aware of our responsibilities to the Saudi people and state. We are proud of our heritage and believe that it is our duty to help our country to develop. In this spirit, we are increasing the number of Saudi nationals working with us, particularly in technical and management positions. As mentioned above, we offer scholarship schemes to our Saudi Arabian employees wishing to further their education.

Saudi nationals account for 87% of the total number of employees in Saudi Arabia, most of whom are engineers and skilled technicians. They also occupy 99% of management positions in SABIC and its affiliates.
