Samir A. Al-Abdrabbuh

Vice President – Corporate Communications

Samir draws on more than 25 years of experience in the petrochemicals  industry.  He currently leads the SABIC global Corporate Communications function, engaging in communications across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.  As such, he oversees the Centers of Excellence for Media, Internal Communications, Branding and Corporate Social Responsibility. Samir reports directly to the SABIC Vice Chairman & CEO. He is also currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SABIC affiliate Saudi Organometallic Chemicals Company (SOCC).

 Prior to his current position, Samir was the Executive General Manager of SABIC affiliate, the Ibn Hayyan Plastic Products Company (TAYF), where he was responsible for managing the complete business cycle, from sourcing to manufacturing, marketing, logistics and sales.  Samir was also key to TAYF’s  successful business refocus,   leading a complete operational, financial and legal restructuring process.

He has also held a number of prominent leadership positions in SABIC’s wholly owned affiliate PETROKEMYA. Having worked there for over 20 years, he successfully led a diverse array of functions covering Technical, Operational, Projects, ERP Implementation and Finance Management roles as well as having served as Secretary of the Board of Directors.

A graduate of the King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals, where he earned a BSc in Computer Science & Engineering, Samir has also completed many professional courses in world class institutions such as London Business School, UCLA and the University of Michigan.
