SABIC SHOWCASES INNOVATIVE AGRI-NUTRIENT SOLUTIONS AT AGRICULTURE EXHIBITION IN RIYADH

SABIC took part in the 37th International Trade Exhibition for Agriculture and Agro-Industry in Riyadh from October 7 to 10, showcasing its wide range of innovative, environment friendly agri-nutrient solutions that are targeted to specific needs of each crop and help improve yields.

The SABIC stand at the exhibition highlighted the company’s efforts to spread best agriculture practices and provide farmers with sustainable, cost-efficient and water-efficient nutrients resulting in higher crop yields. An example is the NPK fertilizer grade, which is designed specifically to improve both quality and yield of date palms.

Commenting on SABIC’s participation, Samir Al-Abdrabbuh, Executive Vice President, Agri-Nutrients, said, “The exhibition was an opportunity for us to convey the message that we are not merely a supplier of commodity agri-nutrients, but are using technologically advanced research to develop specialty nutrients. We are committed to sustainable agriculture by creating new solutions that offer significant advantages to farmers. Our key strategic intention is to be closer to farmers, understand their needs and form reliable partnerships with them for sustainable solutions – delivering ‘Chemistry that Matters™’.”

SABIC also displayed its vast portfolio of polymer solutions, such as irrigation pipes that offer sustainable agriculture solutions.

SABIC further outlined the ambitious goals of the Estidamah Agriculture Research Center, which it has established in Riyadh for the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The Center focuses on developing new technologies for sustainable agriculture industries, including finding innovative ways to reduce water use, while increasing production and food quality.

Visitors were also briefed on SABIC’s Nusaned initiative to promote development of local content, besides supporting the domestic agriculture sector to be a key economic pillar as part of Saudi Vision 2030.

Some 350 local and international companies participated in the exhibition, which was held with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture.
