Human Capital

Integrating what we learned during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to implement and expand our 2020 initiatives focused on employee health, safety, and well-being. Our Future of Work task force will shape long-term plans to ensure that our offices and operations continue to meet stakeholder needs efficiently and effectively. We also will enhance and expand our employee assistance program to benefit a greater portion of the SABIC workforce. And we will continue the transformation of our talent-management system to create an end-to-end digital experience spanning the entire employee life cycle.

Social Impact and Community Relationships

Now under construction, the SABIC Specialist Hospital for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment will be a150-bed facility to provide care for those struggling with mental illness and drug addiction, while also promoting mental health education and research. The Center for Autism in Al Madinah—expected to launch soon through contributions from SABIC affiliates in Yanbu—will support early diagnosis, treatment, and vocational rehabilitation of autism, in addition to expanding research and spreading awareness.

SUPPLY CHAIN AND PROCUREMENT

SABIC will continue to join efforts with Aramco to create logistics synergies and efficiencies. We will further enhance our supplier registration platform, and continue driving local sourcing and procurement capabilities. We also will support TRUCIRCLE™ initiatives such as circular feedstock purchasing efforts.

Through the CDP’s climate disclosure initiative, we will increase our focus on reducing our supply chain carbon footprint.

We are also replacing our 16-year-old ships, NCC HIJAZ and NCC NAJD, with two new, eco-design vessels, Shell Solar Sally and Shell Solar Cheryl, that will result in a 40% reduction in carbon emissions and fuel consumption.
