METRO STATION PROVIDES NEW PLATFORM FOR SABIC BRAND

SABIC today revealed that it has secured naming rights to one of the stations of the new Riyadh Metro project. The SABIC Station is located in Al Falah District.

It is the first time the petrochemicals company has acquired naming rights for a project of this type. When opened, the new station will feature branding and a permanent exhibition that highlight how SABIC solutions are supporting environmental sustainability and important advancements in modern life. The tie-up will also promote the high value jobs that the company is creating within the Kingdom and its projects that help enable Saudi Vision 2030.

The strategic initiative gives SABIC a direct way to engage with Riyadh’s emerging workforce as the new SABIC Station will serve both Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and Princess Noura University, as well many nearby secondary schools and commuters accessing King Khalid International Airport. It is estimated that up to 11 million people will pass through the SABIC Station annually.

At stations names announcement and the new Riyadh Metro map reveal event, which was attended by HRH. Prince Faisal bin Bandar, Riyadh Governor; SABIC Chairman, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh Aljarbou, said, “Saudi Arabia has a youthful population and the Riyadh Metro project gives us a platform to speak with the millennial generation on a daily basis. This announcement of the SABIC Station marks an exciting evolution of our brand strategy and supports our wider efforts to become the world’s preferred petrochemical supplier.”

Located close to SABIC’s global headquarters, the SABIC Metro Station is one of 85 stations in the Riyadh Metro Project which is designed to connect the city through a single transport network. The project spans six lines, covering 176km, and is part of a bigger project called ‘King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport’ which includes both bus and metro lines for the city.
