SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company (SABIC AN) hosted the 14th edition of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) Agri-Nutrients Conference in Riyadh on September 10-12. The Conference, which convenes for the first time in Riyadh, is the venue where global industry leaders engage in discussions about the challenges facing sustainable agri-food systems. It therefore offered an opportunity for SABIC AN to present a first-hand account of the company’s agri-nutrient strategy as aligned with Saudi Vision 2023.
In his welcome address, Fahd Al-Battar, SABIC AN CEO, stressed the importance of innovation in addressing global concerns, like the environment and food security, and taking actions to reduce the agri-nutrients industry’s carbon intensity. “Innovation addresses the need to adapt to changing environmental conditions while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Agri innovation offers a pathway to balance these critical priorities, ensuring a resilient and sustainable agricultural industry,” he said.
At a panel discussion on “Executive Leadership Dialogue: Impact of Energy Transition on the Agri-Nutrients Business,” Al-Battar spoke about low-emission fertilizer production, sustainable farming practices, regulatory challenges, and opportunities for innovation and market expansion.
SABIC AN also participated in an exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference, highlighting its leadership in the market by offering differentiated agri-nutrient solutions customized to the specific needs of each crop and providing farmers with sustainable, cost-effective products for higher yields.
