Animal Welfare Guidance

SABIC is committed to ensuring the safety and compliance of its products throughout their life cycle. Chemical manufacturers are required by law to identify and manage the environmental and safety-related risks connected with the products and substances they produce and market. These assessments depend on data that may originate from experimental animal testing, from computational modeling, or from alternative methods for hazard and safety assessments – also known as new approach methodologies (NAMs). SABIC currently follows the “3R Concept” for safety testing: Reduce, Refine and Replace animal testing as much as possible, without compromising on product safety.

Product Stewardship in Associations and Councils

SABIC Product Stewardship is engaged in a variety of associations and councils globally to help develop strong product safety standards, advance toxicological sciences and to support sound regulatory compliance practices. As active member of these organizations, we contribute to SABIC’s commitment to shape innovations that do not only fulfill the highest property- but also sustainability-, health- and safety-standards.
