Eng. Ibrahim Qassim Al-Buainain

Eng. Ibrahim Al-Buainain is a member of SABIC Board of Directors and Chairman of the Sustainability, Risk and EHSS Committee.

Al-Buainain holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA in Global Management, and an M.S. degree in Innovation and Global Leadership from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He currently serves as Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing at Saudi Aramco. He is also Chairman of the Board of Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh) and Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company (Luberef). In addition, he serves as a board member of the Regional Voluntary Carbon Market Company, Aramco Trading Company, and several other Aramco affiliates.

Previously, Al-Buainain held several key positions at Saudi Aramco, including Senior Vice President of Sales, Trading and Supply Planning; President and CEO of Aramco Trading Company (ATC); President and CEO of Aramco Asia; and CEO of Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures (SAEV). He has also served on the boards of several companies, including the Global Integrated Digital Solution Company (Aramco Digital), Aramco Far East (Beijing) Business Services Company Limited, Saudi Aramco Asia Company Limited, as well as other Aramco subsidiaries.
