DR. SALEH AL-AMER
SABIC Executive Vice President, Corporate Governance
Prior to his present position, Dr. Saleh Al-Amer served as Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Downstream Law, at Saudi Aramco, providing strategic legal counsel to support commercial objectives, enable complex transactions, and navigate evolving regulatory landscapes.
He began his professional journey with a strong technical foundation, starting his career as a Plant Engineer at Abqaiq Plants and a Corrosion Engineer at Saudi Aramco where he was later selected for an out-of-Kingdom Law Degree Program.
Dr. Al-Amer broadened his impact beyond engineering by transitioning into the legal field, where he built a distinguished career combining technical insight with legal expertise. His practice has focused on corporate governance, international trade, compliance, intellectual property, and regulatory frameworks, with significant experience advising on both in-Kingdom and cross-border matters.
He has also played a key role in corporate formation and the development of governance frameworks across multiple entities, including vocational and industrial institutions. In addition, he has led legal awareness initiatives covering both Saudi and US legal systems.
Dr. Al-Amer holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University, a bachelor’s degree in Sharia from Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
