AGRI-COLLABORATION GETS UP TO 30% MORE YIELD FROM WORLD FIELDS

Global population is predicted to be nearly 9 billion people in 2050, which may need a 50% increase in the world’s food production. It is a push that involves farmers everywhere and requires action now, even while societies around the world deal with the impact and aftermath of COVID-19.

Collaboration and smart plant nutrients are part of the solution.

In a research project at King Saud University in Riyadh, SABIC is working on the challenge of feeding a hungry world, starting with a specialty nutrient for the native crop and the difficult growing conditions of the Middle East.

With a smart plant food tailored to growing date palm, SABIC is helping farmers increase yields as much as 30% and produce a crop of more consistent quality and quantity even in soil that produces fluctuating harvests.

Multiple smart nutrients are also being combined in one application to help save farmers time.
