COLLABORATION. THE WORLD’S HUNGRY FOR IT.
Working with farmers, SABIC is helping increase food yields for the world while arable land is diminishing.
To help feed a predicted global population of 9 billion people by 2050, our specialty nutrients can be tailored to the demands of different crops for different regions of the world. Set to help increase global harvests as much as 30% by 2025, it’s Chemistry that Matters™, and it’s never mattered more.
FRUITFUL PARTNERSHIPS. THEY HELP FEED THE WORLD.
SABIC is helping world farmers grow more crops with less water.
In arid areas, our collaborations with agribusiness, government and growers are helping produce bigger harvests with limited water usage.
At the SABIC-operated agri-research center Estidamah, we have been able to grow tomatoes with only 7 liters of water per kilogram compared to 345 liters per kg in traditional open fields and 200 liters in low technology greenhouses.
COLLABORATION. IT KEEPS WATER RUNNING WHERE IT ONCE RAN DRY.
SABIC partnerships are helping keep world water supplies at healthy levels.
Water shortages could affect more than 60% of the world’s population by 2025.
Both major cities and remote areas are vulnerable. With innovative filter companies, SABIC resins are desalinating and purifying water from new sources to fulfil demand. Our new piping can reduce installation time when upgrading city infrastructure.
