SABIC highlights benefits of cooperation at 25th WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh

SABIC participated as a National Energy Champion in the 25^th WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from October 11 to 15, where Dr. Faisal M. Alfaqeer, CEO and Executive Board Member, emphasized the sheer benefit of partnerships as a key enabler for development and growth.

Held under the theme, “Pathways to an Energy Future for All,” the Congress, hosted for the first time in the Kingdom, featured ministerial and CEO-level exchanges, innovation showcases, and forward-thinking insights.

Speaking at the plenary session, “Partnering for Success – Challenges and Opportunities”, Dr. Alfaqeer underscored that the key to the success of the principle of ‘cooperation’ revolves around joining efforts, combining expertise, exchanging knowledge and sharing ideas, adding that this covers R&D work in our industry, such as research and assessments, and practical aspects of our business, including building plants and managing supply chains.

“Focusing on SABIC, we truly believe in partnerships – a belief that is evident throughout our history of more than five decades. In fact, one could argue that collaboration has been an essential element of SABIC’s growth story,” Dr. Alfaqeer noted.

Several other SABIC leaders participated in various sessions at the Congress, at which they addressed a number of industry issues, including safety, cybersecurity, footprint management, technology, innovation, local content and small and medium-sized enterprises.

SABIC’s booth at the accompanying exhibition drew large crowds as visitors explored the company’s sustainable technologies that are advancing manufacturing sectors in various clean energy areas such as renewable energy and EV infrastructure.

SABIC was also a sponsor of “The Best Paper Award,” one of the 10 special programs of the Congress. The WPC Energy Congress Technical Committees, which included SABIC experts, selected deserving technical papers for the Award, which celebrated the most impactful contributions that advanced knowledge.
