Description
2-Ethyl Hexanol (2-EH) is a clear, uniform, nontoxic liquid with a characteristic odor, insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvent. It is obtained indirectly in OXO synthesis from propylene and synthesis gas.
Applications
- Production of plasticizers (DOP, TOTM and DOTP) used in wire and cable, automotive applications, building and construction, hoses and flooring. DOP and TOTM used for medical applications.
- Production of 2-Ethylhexyl acrylate mainly used in coatings and adhesives.
- An intermediate for other chemicals industry such as diesel Fuel additives, lubricant oil additives, adhesives, coatings, pharmaceuticals, personal care, crop protection and mining applications.
