General Information

Description

N-Butanol (NBA) is a clear liquid with characteristic odor, miscible with all common solvents. It is obtained in OXO synthesis from propylene and synthesis gas.

Applications

  • Production of n-Butyl acrylate used for emulsion polymers for latex surface coatings and solution polymers for enamels and lacquers.
  • Production of n-Butyl Acetate used as an effective solvent for a variety of coating resins including epoxies, urethanes. Also used for leather treatment, perfumes and as a process or reaction solvent.
  • Production of n-Butyl glycol ethers used as solvents for cleaning fluids, paints and inks.
  • n-Butanol is used directly as a solvent, mainly in surface coatings , adhesives and agriculture.
  • An intermediate for other chemicals industry such as lubricant, agriculture, personal care and pharmaceuticals.
